To application
How do I apply?
You will find your dream job on our website under “Careers” and “Vacancies”. You can apply directly online; the button for this can be found at the bottom of the respective job ad. If there is no suitable position for you, but you would still like to become part of our team, please feel free to send us an unsolicited application here: Get in touch (softgarden.io)
Which documents do I need to apply?
Since we want to keep the application process as quick and uncomplicated as possible, we only need your current CV and your references/certificates in the first step. A covering letter is not essential, but welcome. We will request further documents from you if needed.
How long does it take to register and apply for a job?
If you have your current application documents to hand, you only need a few minutes to apply online.
How does the application process work?
This differs slightly from position to position. Basically, we in the recruiting team first of all check your application documents. We then discuss them with the relevant department. If your application documents have sparked our interest, you will be invited to an initial getting-to-know-you session – this usually takes place online via Microsoft Teams. The focus here is on your skills and your personality (no assessment centre or the like). If you are successful at this stage, you will be invited to a second interview, which may be held at our offices. This will give us a chance to get to know you even better, and you may have the opportunity to meet the team, get a taste of the work processes or present a case. If both sides are satisfied with each other, we will make you an offer.
I have applied but have not yet received a reply. What should I do?
You can contact us at any time to find out how your application is progressing. However, please bear in mind that the application process takes several weeks on average. We will do our best to provide you with feedback as quickly as possible.
Will I receive feedback if my application is unsuccessful?
Yes! Regardless of whether you receive a positive response to your application or unfortunately a rejection – you will receive feedback from us.
Will my personal data be stored if I apply to dlv? Who can view my application data?
Your documents will be treated confidentially at dlv. Only the HR team and the responsible colleagues from the department can view your data. After completing the selection process, your data will be deleted in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, in particular the GDPR. You can find our privacy policy here: Data security (softgarden.io)
Who should I address my cover letter to (if you submit a cover letter) and who is my point of contact if I have any questions?
Your point of contact is Ms Sophia Sirtl (+49 89 12705-242, sophia.sirtl@dlv.de). She will be happy to help you with any questions you may have and can be named as the point of contact in your cover letter.
In which language should I apply? And what is the company language?
German is spoken throughout the company, and our products (magazines, websites, app, etc.) are also all in German. Please therefore also submit your application in German.
About the interview
How does the interview work?
If your application has sparked our interest, we will invite you to a personal or virtual interview. Here you will first get to know the people you will be meeting. We will also be happy to present our employee benefits and advantages to you again. Then it's your turn: we want to learn more about you, your background and your skills, and of course why you would like to join us. There is no fixed interview procedure. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to pepper us with queries. If you have made a good impression in the first interview, there may be a second interview. Depending on the position, there may also be a short additional task for applicants or a trial working day. If it works for both sides, we look forward to making you an offer.
Do I need to prepare for the interview in any way?
It is very important to us that the interview takes place on equal terms. First and foremost, it is about you and us getting to know you. You surely have the most important steps from your CV and your skills in mind. Of course, we would also be pleased if you have already looked into dlv; we will be happy to answer your questions. This way you are well informed and can already get a feel for our company, our way of thinking and our way of working.
Help! What should I wear to the interview?
We are a relaxed company and that's how we dress. A suit, tie, or a skirt suit are not a must. Depending on the position and occasion, it may sometimes be the case that a suit is part of the daily outfit. Otherwise, we wear casual everyday clothes. During interviews, we dress in casual business chic with trainers and sneakers, jeans and a T-shirt, chinos and a shirt, or even a dress, but never in such a way that you would feel uncomfortable being inappropriately dressed. When it comes to the interview, dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable and don't try to be someone you're not – it's your skills that count, not your appearance.
Other questions about the application
Who are we looking for?
If you are looking for a job where you can really make a difference, then we want to meet you! We offer entry and promotion opportunities to bright minds who are willing to apply their skills, creativity, and commitment. We are looking for talented, ambitious people in the areas of advertising sales & scheduling, accounting, controlling, digital (product management, SEO, social media, new business models, CRM & data, market research), reception, events, facility management, production, fee accounting, IT, marketing, human resources, editorial, corporate communications, sales (logistics, customer service, field service & trade fair, online marketing & shop) and in many other positions. And, of course, at both the specialist and management level or in the junior staff area.
I can't find a suitable job opening in the job exchange. Can I still send an (unsolicited) application?
Of course, we are also looking forward to your unsolicited application. You can find the option to submit an unsolicited application here Get in touch (softgarden.io). You will become part of the dlv talent pool and our recruiting team will inform you as soon as suitable positions become available. Our job portal is always up to date, because we upload current job ads in real time on our career page.
Can I apply for several positions and locations?
Of course! You are welcome to apply for different jobs with us and at different locations at the same time. We will assess your suitability for each position separately.
The position has been advertised for a while, can I still apply?
Of course – as long as the position is still online, it has not yet been filled and we look forward to receiving your application.
Can I reapply at a later date if I have been rejected?
Absolutely! We would be delighted if you'd keep an eye on our careers page and apply again.
If it didn't work out for one position, can I be considered for another?
Of course. Please feel free to contact us about this. Alternatively, you can also leave an unsolicited application.
None of the dlv locations are an option for me, but can I still apply?
We offer you the opportunity to work remotely in Germany up to 100%, taking into account operational concerns and after consulting with the superior. This means that it may not fully possible for all positions, but could be to a certain extent. In this case, please feel free to contact us, maybe we can find a solution here.
About our working conditions
Can I work remotely in Germany?
Yes, we offer you the opportunity to work remotely in Germany up to 100%, taking into account operational concerns and after consulting with the superior. This means that it may not fully possible for all positions, but could be to a certain extent. Please feel free to actively address this during the application process.
Can I work remotely from abroad?
Yes! Our employees also have the option of working remotely from EEA member states, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for a longer period (up to 180 days a year). Again, the requirements for the position and department must be met.
What are the working hours at dlv?
Fixed core or start times are a thing of the past. You can organise your working day individually, taking into account operational requirements and after consulting with your superior. In other words, we offer flexible working hours (taking into account our opening hours); and during mobile working, flexibility is even greater.
About organisation
Can I also start part-time? Or at a different location, even if this is not indicated?
If a position is available part-time or at a different location, we will state this in the job ad from the outset. This is not possible for every position, but simply let us know your preferences and we will then check the options and do our best to find a solution that suits you and us.
What is the works council and what does it mean for me?
The works council is an organ elected by the employees in the company that upholds the rights of employees. The works council must be heard before any appointment is made. This means that we forward the application documents and information about your planned appointment to the works council, which then has seven days to provide feedback. During this time, we may already send you a draft contract. However, we may only send you the final contract after the above-mentioned period has expired and after positive feedback from the works council. After that, there is nothing to stop you from being hired.
