Traineeship
Lars Wunderlich
Are you passionate about the “green industry”, have you already gained some initial experience in it or are you interested in agricultural or nature-related topics in more depth? In our individual traineeship programme, you will learn all the tools of the trade that an editor needs today: from research, conception, writing, illustrating to publishing in online, print, and social media, including as a video and/or podcast.
You will be actively involved in the editorial team from day one and grow with your tasks. The team around you will involve you in all editorial processes and will be at your side with help and advice as you take your first steps. What is more important to us than a degree in journalism is that you are enthusiastic about your chosen field: you will have expertise and experience in your subject area (e.g. a degree or training in agriculture, agricultural engineering, forestry, hunting or similar). We offer traineeships based on demand, which means that your in-depth training is important to us. Our goal is to have highly trained specialist editors on board in the long term. As a trainee, you will learn how to write about socially relevant topics at dlv. You are an ambassador for nature.
What we offer you:
You will get to know the (editorial) processes of a modern publishing house
You will receive journalistic know-how: from concept and research to writing and publishing content (online, video, podcast, print, and social media)
Your extensive training is important to us: that is why we offer you internal workshops, training at the press academy and daily interaction with your team
There is no getting around cross-media today: you will be introduced to the tools of the trade for photography and video shoots, as well as podcast recordings.
You will have the opportunity to build up a network in the “green industry”: you can get new input from reportages, industry meetings, trade fairs, and press conferences.
You will have the opportunity to develop new formats for the target group and also like to actively engage with readers/users via social media.
This is what sets you apart:
You have a successfully completed degree, e.g. in agricultural marketing and management, agricultural engineering, agricultural sciences, biology, renewable energies, automotive engineering, forestry, journalism, agriculture, mechanical engineering, or an apprenticeship, e.g. in forestry or farming
Your heart beats for the “green industry”
You are open-minded, work independently and take responsibility, but you also thrive in a team
You are easily comfortable with social media
You are curious, have a flair for language and relevant topics, are creative and open to working with technical systems and tools

APPLICATION
Submit your application (CV, references, certificates) online. A cover letter is not absolutely necessary, but is welcome. We also look forward to receiving your work samples (for editorial positions). We will then review your documents, consult with the relevant department and provide you with initial feedback as soon as possible.

If your application documents have sparked our interest, we will be happy to invite you to an initial interview via Microsoft Teams. There you will get to know your direct superiors – and your superiors will get to know you.
SECOND INTERVIEW (VIRTUAL / ON SITE)
If it suits both parties, a second interview can take place either virtually or on site, as required. This will give you the opportunity to get to know the team and the office. For certain positions, you may be asked to present a case or to get a direct taste of the work processes. However, we will let you know in advance if this is the case.
